Waiste Pop-Up Shop 19/10/13

The lovely Jodie

Me and Sarah
Me and Law

This post is a little late than never! It took three hours to turn Dalston Pier studios into the bohemian dream that was my pop up shop. I absolutely loved every minute of it, and wished I could live there. Here are some of my favourite photos from it. With sneak previews, and the chance to buy our new winter stock before anyone else, we had a denim customising station and a tepee and Nostalgic Feather showcased her amazing new jewellery designs too.

It was a huge success and I'd like to thank everyone for coming!

Special thanks to: Billetto, Fran, Dan, Sarah, Alexa, Amalie, Dom, Robert, and of course Linn who made it all happen.

I miss it so much. Hoping to do another one soon!

Little White Lies Customisation Challenge

Dress: c/o Little White Lies (available at Urban Outfitters)
Fedora: Catzari via ASOS
Beaded bag: Vintage
Crochet Top: Charity Shop

A couple of weeks ago I was sent this cute shift dress from the babes at BPR, by the super cool London brand Little White Lies (which is available to buy at UO) , and asked if I wanted to take part in their customisation challenge. You know I love to customise everything, so of course I jumped at the chance, and this is what I came up with. I already had the crochet squares at home (If you've ever been to my flat you will see it is FULL of crochet) and I wanted to design something that was really 'me', and kept to my style. I think this sums me up, don't you think?

I love how the thickness of the crochet makes the collar stand out more, and I really like the colours against the black of the dress. This was a really simple yet effective way to add a bit of colour and texture to a collar, I just stitched the squares on by hand. I feel like I want to do this to all my collars now! Fingers crossed I win!

Do you like my design? How would you have customised the collar on the dress?

So Fluffy...

Fluffy jumper: MinkPink c/o Spoiled Brat
Fur Gilet: Topshop (old)
Dress (underneath): MinkPink (old)
Boots: ASOS
Necklaces: WAISTE
Hat: Catzari via ASOS

I'm still seeing how long I can get away with wearing no tights. I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've come back from Greece, and I still have a bit of a tan. Luckily this MP jumper is so fluffy, snuggly and warm I don't even need a coat either.

This was actually Friday's outfit, when I was running around getting some last minute bits for the pop up shop, which I can't believe is over already. Obsessed with these fur gilets, I now have five...

I was overwhelmed by how well it went at the WAISTE pop up on Saturday, everyone was so lovely and the support was incredible. As I am typing this I'm just downloading the photographs from the day taken by my amazingly talented friend Fran. Will tell you all about it in my next post.

Velvet Queen.

Velvet dress: c/o Shelikes
Necklaces: WAISTE
Lace jacket: Charity Shop
Boots: New Look
Fur Coat: Carboot

Velvet-like fabric is definitely my favourite for Autumn, I'm obsessed by it. I'd say around  70% of my AW wardrobe is made from it, I'm a total addict. I love the lattice detail of this little dress, and it's the perfect grungy babydoll shape. It also come in red too, just saying. Perfect little party dress, this was my Friday night outfit.

Hello Autumn and SCROLL DOWN for an Exciting Announcement...

Coat: Vintage
Crochet cardigan: carboot
Om Jumper: c/o Out and About
Skirt: Vintage
Boots: ASOS
Bag: c/o Pauls Boutique.

The summer, just like my tan seems to be officially over. As much as I loved layering this outfit, running outside in the bitter wind to snap outfit pictures was not fun at all. Luckily this super snuggle MP jumper kept me warm, it looks great thrown over any outfit, and is fast becoming one of my staple pieces for AW. I can't believe my luck when I found this Almost Famous-esque coat in a vintage shop in London, definitely new favourite vintage coat! I feel like I'm going to be wearing it a lot.

I'm not quite sure I want to embrace Autumn just yet, as the thought of wearing black tights all winter again is making me shudder. Unfortunately I'm wearing them as I type as above is yesterdays outfit, as much as I resenting putting them on today, I'm home for the weekend and didn't have much choice. It's pretty chilly up North! They are pretty much outfit ruiners for me. I'm going to make it my aim this winter to find as many alternatives to wearing them as possible, whether it be leggings, patterned tights, fishnet, crochet tights, anything but black!

EEEEK!!!! I can't tell you how excited/scared/nervous I am about it, I've got so much great vintage stock, jewellery and they'll even be a customising denim section (which you will be free to take away-while stocks last) and I'm going to turn it into a bohemian dream. It's going to be magical.

If you'd like to come just click to get tickets below! (it's free of course!!) The reason why you need to do this is so you can get a 10% discount code for WAISTE on the day.
