With everything that’s going on in the world at the moment, I know the easiest thing to throw on when we are all at home is loungewear-that’s if you plan on getting out of your pjs. As tempting as it to do this, what is the point of having a wardrobe of pretty clothes if you’re not wearing them-even if it is ‘just at home’. I’ve been lucky enough to work at home for the past few years and getting up, having a shower and getting dressed is an instant mood lifter for me. Plus I find I’m a lot more productive.
So here are three different outfits ideas that I’ve been wearing to work from home in that are just as comfortable as loungewear, I promise. And if you’re not buying anything new at the moment, these looks are so easy to shop from your own wardrobe.
comfortable trousers and a cardigan
Super chic and super comfortable, these trousers are a much more relaxed option than jeans but still looks stylish and put together, especially in a pretty Spring pattern such as gingham. And a cardigan (or a lightweight jumper) just adds to that cozy factor while you still look great, and perfect for a zoom meeting. A vintage cardigan would work perfectly here too, either plain or embroidered. Think pastel and Spring colours such as lemon yellow, cream, rose, lavender etc for a refreshing colour palette.

vintage or vintage style maxi dress
I don’t know about you but dresses are my favourite thing to wear ever. They are just as comfortable as loungewear if they are loose enough (and then they can allow for all that isolation snacking without you feeling uncomfortable-not the case for jeans!) and they are an instant mood lifter. The possibilities are endless here of course with dresses, but my personal favourite is a floral maxi. Throw on your favourite vintage dress and you’ll feel instantly better I promise. Bonus points if can co-ordinate your slippers to your outfit.

Cute matching co-ord
Striped Top: H&M, Striped Bottoms: H&M, Loafers: Rouge Matilda (gifts)
Now, this one is the closest thing to wearing loungewear but a lot chicer. I feel as chic as a french girl in this matching set from H&M but I’m as comfy as if I was lying in bed. The added ruffle details elevate the set and this looks just as good out of the house (on your daily walk) as it does inside. Just make sure it’s matching-you can even recreate this with similar items of the same colour/pattern in any material you want. I’ve included the faithfull set below as another example, and a skirt option. These loafers in a contrasting pattern add a quirkiness to the outfit to break it up, or you could go full tonal.
More Co-ord options:
Recently I’ve just switched over to my Spring summer wardrobe as soon as the weather got a bit brighter and sunnier and I’ve LOVED discovering all my dresses from last year. The majority of the ones I own are super comfortable and they’re so easy to throw on, yet you look like you’ve made an effort.
