I cannot believe how long I’ve left it on here, and for that I’m truly sorry. So what’s been happening since June you ask? I mean not that much tbh, Covid has put a stop to most of our summer plans but we did manage to head to Italy to go vintage buying, which meant we could take an extra few days away too, which we were really grateful for, as we’ve not stopped working since lockdown. As the amount of vintage we needed to buy for both the shop and online couldn’t be done over Skype (we’re talking A LOT here-we just had 15 massive boxes turn up) we had to be there ourselves to hand pick it all, which meant two days in 34 degree heat in the warehouses. Thank goodness we had a few days to relax in Sardinia before. Ooh that gives me an idea, I can do an outfits in Italy post actually if you’d like.

Anyway, I’ve gone off on a tangent now as the whole point of this post was about gingham, and preferably in pink, although I do LOVE lilac too, I’ve not found many people making anything out of lilac gingham ! Anyway…these are my top four gingham outfits of the summer.

Dress: Sleeper (was via Studio B but sold out) Bag: Rooper, Hair Slides: Maison Archives

Ok my absolute number one pink gingham piece in my wardrobe has to be my gingham Sleeper dress. These handmade linen dresses are definitely an investment, but I’ve 100% got my cost per wear now, I mean at one point in lockdown I was practically living in this ! My sleeper dresses are also my most complimented dresses from girls on the street which makes my heart smile. Please also note my pink gingham Roop bag, never too much matching gingham in my opinion.

Pink and Red Gingham Dress: Molby

Next up, we have this amazing handmade dress from Molby, a new discovery of mine but an incredible one, I’m in love with everything Karina makes ! Working on a made to order basis so there is no wastage, Molby in cute print and gingham heaven. Set your alarm for the next shop opening via their instagram (which is what I did to nab this dream dress!) I’ve not got my eye on the top version too.

Pink gingham shorts c/o: Sezane, Blouse: Zara

Now, I’m not usually¬†a short person, but I thought I’d give these linen Sezane shorts a try, and I’m so glad I did. I love them! They fit perfectly, I’m small on the waist and big on the hips and these don’t hug unflattering on my thighs like denim shorts do. Plus they make my legs look so much longer than they actually are. I love them. They also have a matching top which I’ve linked below !

Pink Gingham Two Piece : Delphi Eva

And last but not least is this incredible pink gingham two piece from Delphi Eva Design, a brand I found when I went on a gingham instagram black hole. This is actually a bespoke design created especially for me by the lovely Delphi from an existing dress design she had already, as she can custom any of her designs to suit you. Again made to order which I think is absolutely great. I thought I would opt for a cute co-ord because I know I have a pretty extensive dress collection already, a co-ord gives me way more outfit options!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a OG outfit post on here hasn’t it. It’s been such a strange and crazy few months, it’s really been such a whole rollercoaster of emotions and to be honest I’ve mostly been feeling quite lost and lonely. My motivation has gone out the window and I just feel a bit flat and empty about everything. I’ve felt like I’ve just withdrawn and not wanted to share how I feel or what I’m doing. The flat has constantly been a mess and looking like a vintage shop exploded in it (which technically it had as we had to shut the shop) there’s been so much stress with that side of things behind the scenes that it’s really taken a toll on me mentally.

The weather has also wildly affected my mood, if it’s sunny everything looks a little brighter and I feel an instant mood lift, but if it’s rainy or cold my mood instantly drops and I just want to crawl back to bed and not do anything. I’ve really been struggling. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. The one thing that has really helped me was the fact I could finally shoot outside again-I’ve really been missing that feeling of being excited to create creative content outside of the walls of my flat.

So onto this dress. Actually first, aren’t daisies just an instant mood lifter? This day was so warm and sunny and it was so good to be outside shooting. I just love the lilac with the daisies, they just go so well together. This lilac wrap dress is by a new sustainable brand called Omnes. They’re a new and affordable clothing line that creates beautiful clothing that is considerate to the planet too. And this dress is just so lovely in real life too. They only¬†use quality fabrics that are grown, sourced and manufactured responsibly, and they use digital textile printing (which saved over 40 billion litres of water in 2019) Their whole collection is just lovely, timeless classic staple wardrobe pieces and there’s something for everyone. you can view the whole collection here, I just love the lilac skirt in the same print as the dress. I’m so excited to see more from this brand ! And¬†I’ve become a complete lilac convert too. You can read more about their sustainability here.

Dress gifted from Omnes

On the theme of both lilac and sustainability I’ve rounded up some of my favourite lilac pieces below.

*Post contains some aff links

Hello ! It’s been a while. I’ve got to be honest my motivation has really gone out of the window recently and I’ve spent more hours laying on my bed staring out the window than I’d like to admit. Does anyone else feel like that? But this idea came to me at 2am so I thought it would be a great a post to share some of my favourite things.

So, welcome to a new addition to the blog…monthly favourites! Where I’ll be sharing with you my favourite products, clothing, etc with you that I’ve been using or wearing over the past month. I’ll also start to include favourite recipes, books etc but I’m not going to get ahead of myself just yet and for the first one I’ll stick to beauty and clothing. Also I’d like to point out I will be doing my monthly favourites from the month just gone, so these were from April. So without further rambling, let’s get started.

Loveshack Fancy x Superga collaboration

First up we have the Loveshack Fancy x Superga collaboration which omg how dreamy are THESE ! I’m not usually a trainers kind of girl but I’m in love with this whole colaboration it’s perfect. And it’s getting me into casual footwear, win win really. ¬†Lovershack Fancy have taken their signature elements (think pretty florals, pastel colours etc) and made a collection of Supergas that are like a work of art. These were kindly gifted and you can find them here and here – but hurry there’s not that many sizes left!

Crisp Sheets

Ok next up we have a new bed-ware (is that even a word?) brand I’ve discovered called Crisp Sheets. They make the most perfect bedding in beautiful neutral tones, which stay crisp after every wash-they’re specially woven to ensure the soft touch stays crisp, like you’ve just made your bed. Also (and this is what sold them to me) they don’t need ironing!! Not that I even iron my sheets anyway but¬†they are so creased when they come¬†out of the dryer. I bought the Purity Sand Dune duvet set, and because they had a sale on, treated myself to the nude towels¬†I had my eye too, they’re 100% organic terry cotton. Because let’s face it, I’m spending more time in bed and towels than anywhere else these days. I’m so happy with both purchases ! They’re such good quality.

Living Proof/Trinny London/Soleil Toujours/Lottie London

A few skin/hair care products I’ve been using and I’m really impressed with this month (in no particular order) Let’s start with the Living Proof full thickening cream. I’ve got fine (limp) hair and when I’ve washed it looks even more flat when I blow dry it so this is a lifesaver. A little goes a long way-just apply to damp hair and blow dry and you can see the difference. I never blow dry without it.

The Trinny London BFF cream, this was originally a gift but I have repurchased and I will continue to repurchase forever because it is THAT GOOD. I’ve got oily skin with large pores and I’ve tried every CC,BB, primer going for my skin and none of them worked. Until this miracle product. I put it on as my last step before foundation and my skin has never looked so good. Goodbye pores and oil I don’t know how this magic cream works, but it DOES. Plus it has SPF 30 in it-even more of a bonus. You can also wear it on it’s own too, as ¬†it adapts to your skin tone. See Magic! Or some great type of science.

I was gifted a new self tan to try from Soleil Toujours (in medium deep) and I think this is my favourite one I’ve tried. Now I’m no fake tan expert (and I’m quite lazy when it comes to tanning) but this one is such a lovely colour ! I was glowing. It was a very believable bronze, I was so impressed with it. There’s a cream for your body and a serum for your face and it’s made from 70% organic ingredients, (it’s also vegan and cruelty free) it lasted for days and didn’t go patchy either. Bonus points for the nice smell and lovely packaging too.

Lastly on the skincare front (and it’s not really skincare it’s just fun) is the Lottie London freckle tint which is just fun! I’ve ALWAYS wanted freckles, curly hair and freckles that’s what I wished for when I was little. And now I can have the freckle part! Dead easy to apply, just dot it on, then I like to pat with a makeup sponge to make them look more natural. Above was my very first attempt so they don’t look toooo natural? but still so cute ! Oh also this is also vegan and cruelty free!

Margaux Studios

A new brand I’ve recently discovered via instagram is Margaux Studios and everything is so beautiful ! It’s all hand made and sustainability is at the heart of everything she does. She kindly gifted me some beautiful pieces that I’ve not stopped wearing including this beautiful bow,¬†hand made using fabric shop off cuts, ensuring nothing goes to waste, and the daisy pearl necklace ¬†made from freshwater ivory rice pearls and a hand blown glass daisy bead. These are definitely pieces I will be keeping in my collection forever.

Right! A shirt I’ve been living in since it arrived is this Arket one ! Just look at that collar. I’ve been lusting after it for a few months now and it finally came back in stock and I could get it with my gifting allowance. And I’m so glad I did. It looks great on it’s own or worn under a cardigan/jumper with some vintage Levi’s-it’s basically the vintage shirt I wish I could find but never do.

An underwear set that’s so pretty you’ll want to show it off is this one from Wacoal. In the most perfect vintage pink colour (it’s listed as ‘rose dust’ on their website and I think that captures the colour perfectly) wear a la Carrie Bradshaw in SATC under a sheer blouse to show it off. Thank you for the lovely gift Wacoal.

And finally, I’m now a member of the Sleeper Dress club after finally getting my hands on the pink gingham Atlanta when Studio B had a sale, then because I couldn’t stop thinking about this floral one above, I just had to get that one too. They are so so pretty, yet so so comfortable, just like wearing your pyjamas. And of course they make pyjamas too, they are the world’s first walking sleepwear brand after all-those feather ones I’m sure you’ve seen all over instagram ! Perfect for staying at home. Plus these ones come with matching hair ribbons! i’ll link them here from their own website too as they are nearly sold out on Studio B they’ve been so popular.

And that’s your lot, if you made it to the end of this post, well done and thank you so much for reading! I hope this post has inspired you to maybe discover some new brands, or to add something to your wishlist.

With everything that’s going on in the world at the moment, I know the easiest thing to throw on when we are all at home is loungewear-that’s if you plan on getting out of your pjs. As tempting as it to do this, what is the point of having a wardrobe of pretty clothes if you’re not wearing them-even if it is ‘just at home’. I’ve been lucky enough to work at home for the past few years and getting up, having a shower and getting dressed is an instant mood lifter for me. Plus I find I’m a lot more productive.

So here are three different outfits ideas that I’ve been wearing to work from home in that are just as¬†comfortable¬†as loungewear, I promise. And if you’re not buying anything new at the moment, these looks are so easy to shop from your own wardrobe.

comfortable trousers and a cardigan

Cardigan: Rouje, Trousers: Warehouse

Super chic and super comfortable, these trousers are a much more relaxed option than jeans but still looks stylish and put together, especially in a pretty Spring pattern such as gingham. And a cardigan (or a lightweight jumper) just adds to that cozy factor while you still look great, and perfect for a zoom meeting. A vintage cardigan would work perfectly here too, either plain or embroidered. Think pastel and Spring colours such as lemon yellow, cream, rose, lavender etc for a refreshing colour palette.

More Cardigan and Trouser options:

vintage or vintage style maxi dress

Dress: Kitri, Slippers: Onaie (both gifts)

I don’t know about you but dresses are my favourite thing to wear ever. They are just as comfortable as loungewear if they are loose enough (and then they can allow for all that isolation snacking without you feeling uncomfortable-not the case for jeans!) and they are an instant mood lifter. The possibilities are endless here of course with dresses, but my personal favourite is a floral maxi. Throw on your favourite vintage dress and you’ll feel instantly better I promise. Bonus points if can co-ordinate your slippers to your outfit.

More Dress Options:

Cute matching co-ord

Striped Top: H&M, Striped Bottoms: H&M, Loafers: Rouge Matilda (gifts)

Now, this one is the closest thing to wearing loungewear but a lot chicer. I feel as chic as a french girl in this matching set from H&M but I’m as comfy as if I was lying in bed. The added ruffle details elevate the set and this looks just as good out of the house (on your daily walk) as it does inside. Just make sure it’s matching-you can even recreate this with similar items of the same colour/pattern in any material you want. I’ve included the faithfull set below as another example, and a skirt option. These loafers in a contrasting pattern add a quirkiness to the outfit to break it up, or you could go full tonal.

More Co-ord options:

Recently I’ve just switched over to my Spring summer wardrobe as soon as the weather got a bit brighter and sunnier and I’ve LOVED discovering all my dresses from last year. The majority of the ones I own are super comfortable and they’re so easy to throw on, yet you look like you’ve made an effort.

I posted my first outfit video on IGTV here if you need some more ideas.
